I strongly urge you to amend the draft shoreline master plan to prohibit mining activity on the
Hood Canal shoreline and other shorelines of State-wide signifcance in Jefferson County. The
beauty of the Hood Canal has economic value as it attracts tourism, and its unpolluted waters
support salmon populations. It is time to stop destruction of our puget Sound by allowing mining
