The entire Hood Canal shoreline is designated as a "Shoreline of State-Wide Significance" this must be taken into consideration now, not after the fact. Our county has enough mines to fullfil the needs of our communities. Mines bring our county little revenue if the material is transported elsewhere. We ask that you not only work with our legislators to amend the way our state taxes ore (at the point of extraction rather than the point of sale ... please!) but equally as important, that you deny mining companies the right to rape our county's natural resources unfettered.
