Dear Planners and Commissioners, I am utterly opposed to any allowance in the Shoreline Master Plane
for mining on or near the shorelines of our region, Hood Canal, or any other shorelines of statewide
significance in our region. Please do not approve a plan that allows for industrial development or use of
our precious Hood Canal and local shorelines. The shorelines of our region are vital to the restoration of
our indigenous wildlife and fish species. They are also the last buffer we have to protect the fragile
waters from human impacts.
