I am shocked that this is even a possibility with the all the public outcry against the Fred Hill Materials proposal for extensive mining along with barges and an enormous pier in Hood Canal. No one supports this degradation of an environmentally fragile waterway except those who will profit from it. Hundreds of organizations that work to preserve the environment and individuals, including the navy and Representative Norm Dicks are on record opposing this kind of activity. Please amend the current preliminary draft shoreline master plan to prohibit mining activities on the shoreline of Hood Canal and all other such waterways in our county. Thank you.
