"Me, (

I would like to weigh in my opinion on your proposed shoreline
management proposal and request that you amend the current
preliminary draft shoreline master plan to prohibit mining
activities on the shoreline of Hood Canal and any other
shoreline of state-wide significance within the county's
jurisdiction. Although it looks like you have tried to ensure that
all possible precautions will be taken to mitigate potential
problems and provide for remediation in the event there is an
accident, past history shows that once the damage is done,
there is really no going back and restoring the environment.
Mining does not have a good track record of being
environmentally sensitive. .and once they have done their
damage, it is permanent. We have a pristine and envious
shoreline...please don't mar it.
