Any such operations would be completely counterproductive to the massive effort and expense of cleaning up the now dead Canal. In fact, prohibition of any more industrial activity or other intensive land use or development on all coastlines within Puget Sound is now the only wise choice there is. The Sound is failing and there is significant evidence that's happening because of our failure to protect it. To allow more activities that further degrade the Sound will just create even larger expenses in the future to restore it. That's a ludicrous approach to planning.
