The ecosystem of the Hood Canal is fragile at best, and large parts of this beautiful and useful waterway are already badly degraded. Any industrial development along the canal will add materially to the degradation of the aesthetics and water quality of the Canal. Please nip any such contemplated industrial development in the bud now. It is relatively easy to establish such restrictions now--if left undone, it becomes much more difficult to protect our priceless assets and block adverse shoreline development at a later time in the permitting process.
