I am a long time resident along Hood Canal, and remember when the tug boat that was handling a barge leased
by Wa State Ferries, overturned killing the local pilot and engineer near Lofall. I watched the storm that took the
bridge down.
I urge the Jefferson County Planning Commission to amend the current preliminary draft, shoreline master plan to
PROHIBIT mining activities on Hood Canal shorelines.
