I want to add my voice to the many who are opposing the commercial gravel interests. No piers, ships, barges or conveyors should be allowed to threaten these shores and waters. The Canal is our resource, to be jointly preserved and enjoyed by all. It is not a marketable commodity to be harvested and exported by private interests. We live in an era where we see all too clearly the damage done by those who would abuse ecosystems in their efforts to strip profits from our fragile planet. I urge you to decide this matter with future generations in mind rather than the short term narrow interests of capitol and monetary gain.
