Ludlow but am an ardent admirer and user of the greater Hood Canal waterways. I do not consider the huge growth of industrial usage under the bridge to be in my best interests nor those of my neighbors. While visiting Chile some years ago I saw x2 instances where huge areas of land were stripped of any use and then two huge conveyor piers went out into the Channel to further scar the approach. Of course the land was worn out and empty of commercial use but the long, long, long, naked ugly conveyer belts and a pier were still there where even Rhea/emu found forage scarce. The sheep ranchers had given up decades ago and nature could not heal the scars. The Straits of Magellan deserved better. Please prevent this hideous land/sea misuse in our county. Please. Thank you for your attention and please know many recognize this is a tough call for you all. Pat Ryan 1/29/2009
