Subject: Comment on Preliminary Draft SMP
To the Planning Commission:
I would like to comment on the SMP draft that is presently under review.
1. I would encourage you to prohibit mining or mining related activities on Shorelines of Statewide
Significance as set forth in Article 5 of the SMP.
I believe this would be in the greater public interest to protect the fragile ecosystem that is Hood
Canal from further deterioration and preserve this area for the benefit of future generations
