Suggesting that we adopt rules such as those outlined in Grant G0600343 is ridiculous. We as property owners were not informed of the huge changes which you planned to approve for us. This lack of sensitivity and good common sense on the part of the government officials is appalling. It adversely affects property owner's rights and their livelihood. It is no wonder that the public finds it hard to believe that the government is working on behalf of the people they represent when they impose rules such as these in such a secretive manner. This plan is too restrictive to the property owner, doesn't allow for compensation should some unforeseeable disaster occur, is complicated and hard to understand, and really only allows limited use of property so dearly loved, paid for, and taken care of by its owners. I, for one, feel that we are being railroaded. It is reminiscent of other government imposed plans throughout history. In fact, I am reminded of Seattle in the early 1900's when all the property owners on Denny Hill had to leave their homes and businesses that they toiled so hard to build. They were told that this was in the best interests of the city and the environment. They were not compensated for their losses and considered trouble- makers when they raised objections. Meanwhile the hill was washed away by big hoses into Puget Sound. This is a dismal part of Seattle's history. G0600343 affects far more individuals and businesses than in the Denny re- grade fiasco and many of the same elements can be found in the county's secretive approach and restrictive land use changes. As a property owner and a tax payer I would like: . A copy of G0600343 . An opportunity to read the plan . A list of all the shoreline property owners, their addresses, and phone numbers in Jefferson County Finally, we pay dearly for this property we love and work with everyday. It was stated at the meeting that there are no problems with the existing plan, so these big changes are baffling to me. It's a shame and a travesty that people who really aren't invested in the land have so much power to decide what we do with it. Kathy Couch 101 Attitude Lane Port Ludlow, WA 98635 2/2/2009
