Planning commission Jefferson County and BOCC:
Please amend the SMP to prohibit mining activities on the shoreline of the Hood Canal and any other shoreline of
statewide significance within the county's jurisdiction. This is the time to do this with the update of the SMP. In
addition I would recommend you look closely at substantial remodels or combining of two parcels for the purpose
of Megahomes. This is an opportunity that comes once in 50-75 years for redevelopment along our shoreline, as
many summer cabins are being built-up for year round living or simply being built on for high end living at much
more impact to the shoreline. I note mention of a CUP for (pg 10-7) obstruction of view with enlargement or
expansion. It is an administrative decision. I would urge firm criteria be outline as otherwise and administrative
r~view could be subjective. Thanks for your hard work.
