Subject: amend the current preliminary draft shoreline master plan
@
Dear Planning Committee,
We have been blessed to be living along the shore of Hood Canal for the last 20 years during which time the
Hood Canal and Puget Sound have both undergone tremendous negative events to the water, fish and wildlife.
We urge you to amend the current preliminary draft of the shoreline master plan to prohibit mining activities on the
shoreline of Hood Canal which puts the health and safety of this pristine waterway in great jeopardy. The Hood
Canal is a gift of nature to all of us who live on the shores and for all of those who visit these beautiful waterways.
Private interests should not be allowed to destroy this gift, under no circumstances.
Thank you for taking these crucial issues to heart and making a decision which will benefit the general public over
years to come. Once nature is destroyed by selfish causes, it cannot be repaired.
Sincerely,
Jill and Don Day
