Please amend the current preliminary draft shoreline master plan to prohibit
mining activities on the shoreline of Hood Canal and any other shoreline of state-
wide significance within the county's jurisdiction. Mining on the Hood Canal will
cause huge disruptions for residents and businesses of Jefferson Co. trying to
cross the bridge whether it's to conduct business, seek medical care or go to
work. Getting on and off the peninsula is already time consuming - this will just
make it worse and will really inhibit the businesses trying to make a living
here. And environmentally it is a disaster waiting to happen.
