SR 112 between Neah Bay and Sekiu reopens with alternating traffic after major windstorm
SEKIU – State Route 112 between Neah Bay and Sekiu has reopened to traffic. The highway had been closed since the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 19 following a powerful windstorm.
During the afternoon of Friday, Nov. 22, people can expect one-way alternating traffic with a pilot car between milepost 3 and 7.
After crews complete additional work today, travelers will see a reduced speed limit of 25 mph and temporary stop signs at milepost 5.5. This is due to roadway sloughing.
The around-the-clock alternating traffic will be in place until permanent repairs can be made.
Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews had to remove numerous downed trees and debris to reopen the highway.
WSDOT thanks travelers for their patience and understanding as crews worked to reopen the highway.
