Families can join in an ornament-making activity from 2-4 pm with PT Artscape elves under the heated tent at Tyler Street Plaza. There will be appearances and photo opps with Santa. Wild Rose Chorale will be out and about singing merry tunes and PT Artscape will helping with kids' ornament-making under the tent at Tyler Plaza. At Dusk (around 4:30pm), Santa will leave on the Kiwanis Choo Choo and head over to the Haller Fountain to light the Community Tree. Shops open later. December 7th * Photos with Santa & the Kiwanis Choo Choo: Stop by Tyler Plaza from 2pm to 4:30pm to take a photo with Santa on the Kiwanis Choo Choo! * Community Tree Lighting: At dusk, Santa lights up the Community Tree at Haller Fountain, then heads over to the Cotton Building, 607 Water St., for more holiday visits. December 8th Youth Arts & Crafts Market Support young artists and makers at the Youth Arts & Craft Market in the Cotton Building from 12pm to 4pm. Pick up unique, last-minute holiday gifts! Additional Santa Visits * * December 14th – Tyler Plaza, 1pm-3pm * December 21st – Tyler Plaza, 1pm-3pm Experience the Magic of Christmas, presented by Smiles Under the Tree, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Entries can be dropped off between December 1st -8th, 2024 at the Port Townsend Public Library. Contest Details: Prizes will be awarded in four categories: - Children 12 & under - Most Creative - Most Literary - People’s Choice Please provide your project with a family friendly name. Your “house” footprint (size) should be limited to 18”x18”. There is no heightlimit. All “houses” must be made from entirely edible pieces. Feel free to use real gingerbread or graham crackers. Entries will be accepted from December 1st - 8th, 2024. Judging will take place December 9th - 16th, 2024 by Port Townsend City Mayor, David Faber. Please drop off your Gingerbread House to the Port Townsend Library during library hours at 1220 Lawrence Street. Winners will be announced Dec. 18th, 2024.
