Paradise Bay Road and Shine Road access to SR 104 in Jefferson County reopens
PORT LUDLOW – Travelers who use Paradise Bay Road and Shine Road at State Route 104 can once again make left turns onto the highway.
On Friday, Nov. 22, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation adjusted temporary barrier in the work zone where crews are building a new roundabout

During the week of Nov. 25, crews will install temporary rumble strips and additional signage in the work zone. Drivers are encouraged to slow down in the work zone and give crews room
to work.
Next steps
In late winter 2025, crews will install concrete and asphalt to form the roundabout structure. Paving requires warmer temperatures to create a long-lasting driving surface. The project
is anticipated to finish in spring 2025.
Whenever near work zones please:
* Slow down – drive the posted speeds for worker and traveler safety.
* Be kind – workers are out there helping to keep people safe and improve the roadways.
* Pay attention – both to workers directing travelers and surrounding traffic.
* Stay calm – expect delays, leave early or take alternate routes if possible; no meeting or appointment is worth risking someone’s life.
