HomeMy WebLinkAboutM092424 CSCRegular Meeting Minutes Jefferson County Civil Service Commission Tuesday September 24, 2024, 2:00 p.m. Jefferson County Courthouse – Commissioners’ Chambers 1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368 Hybrid meeting: Virtual and In-Person Members Bob Gebo Chair Ken Przygocki Member Dan Taylor Member Sarah Melancon Chief Examiner Kristen Bennett Secretary Call to Order: Chair Bob Gebo called the meeting to order at 2:01 p.m. in the presence of Member Dan Taylor, Member Ken Przygocki, Chief Examiner Sarah Melancon, and Secretary Kristen Bennett. Public Comment: No comments received. Approval of Minutes: Member Taylor moved to approve the special meeting minutes of July 23, 2024, as presented. Member Ken Przygocki seconded the Motion. The Motion carried. New Business: 1. Certification of Eligibility Lists: Chief Examiner Melancon submitted the Corrections Officer Eligibility List for the Board's approval. Member Ken Przygocki approves and signed the Eligibility List. 2. Discussion of testing strategy for Support Service Technician position: A review of previous testing processes was conducted, along with a presentation of a study on the Civil Service Commission support services testing in comparable Washington State counties. Chief Examiner Melancon proposed combining the skills test and interview instead of using a written test. Member Taylor motioned to schedule the skills test and interview for the same day, unless it becomes too cumbersome. Member Ken Przygocki seconded the motion, and it was approved. Old Business: 1. Chief Examiner: Amended Civil Service Rules-waiting for updated language approval from Prosecuting Attorney’s office. Additional Business: Member Przygocki has discussed the possibility of holding a Sergeant exam with Sheriff Pernsteiner. Chief Examiner Melancon will contact Sheriff Pernsteiner to proceed with this initiative. Closing Remarks: No Closing remarks.
