MINUTES
Special Meeting
February 5, 2009
Chairman David Sullivan called the Special Meeting with Senator Jim Hargrove to order at
12:30 p.m. in Room 411 of the Legislative Building in Olympia. Commissioner John Austin and
Commissioner Phil Johnson were present. Clallam County Commissioners Mike Dorherty and Steve
Tharinger and Community Development Director John Miller were also present. The following items were
discussed.
. Funding for the Irondale/Port Hadlock Sewer Project
. Funding for substance abuse treatment
. Mineral extraction fee legislation
. Old Fort Townsend State Park closure
. State ferry between Port Townsend and Keystone
. Rebuild of docks at Port Townsend Paper Company
The meeting was recessed at 1 :00 p.m.
Chairman Sullivan reconvened the meeting in Room 339A of the Legislative Building at 2:40 p.m.
Chairman Sullivan, Commissioner Johnson and Commissioner Austin met with Representative Lynn Kessler
and discussed the following items.
. Funding for the Irondale/Port Hadlock Sewer Project and timing for application for a Public Works
Trust Fund Grant
. State ferry between Port Townsend and Keystone
. Saving Old Fort Townsend State Park
. The water policy at Walla Walla
3:00 p.m. until the next Special Meeting scheduled at the O'Brien Building in Olympia.
Austin seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote.
