They’re invisible when you ride, walk, roll, or trot along the Olympic Discovery Trail, but they’re indispensable. Behind every mile of the Olympic Discovery Trail, there are hundreds upon hundreds of meetings. Strategy meetings. Community meetings. Public hearings. Meetings with landowners, stakeholders, government agencies, and more. Many more. Yes, it takes time, treasure, and talent to build trails. But it also takes meetings. Lots of meetings. They turn our collective dreams and vision for a multi-use, nonmotorized trail into unified action. Meetings build trails. They bring our community’s public, private, and voluntary associations together to make our community better. That’s why the Peninsula Trails Coalition is called a coalition: We bring people together in pursuit of our community’s shared vision.
