Dear Jefferson County Commissioners,
I reside in District 1 in Jefferson county, and my property borders the Arcadia Terrace housing development. As part of the responsibilities of the owners of the Arcadia property , as
stated in the conditional use permit, they are to maintain the fence that surrounds their property. Three years ago a large section of said fence blew down , collapsing onto my property.
I contacted the owners at the time - an investment group called Salish Gardens. They sent an employee (maintenance) over to take a look who said he’d be back but never returned. I managed
to prop up the fence with some help, but it is in dire need of repair in many spots, not just the section that finally collapsed. I have contacted county code compliance numerous times
over the last 3 years , and have gone there in person twice regarding this matter. I took a copy of conditional use permit which they scanned into their “system”. The fence remains
in disrepair and if it weren’t for being propped up from my side with decking lumber, it would be on the ground, leaving a twenty foot gap .
I have written a certified letter to the new owners of Arcadia Terrace explaining the situation and received no response. I am hoping that the Commissioners can give County code compliance
the nudge they need to address this issue. I am not sure what more to do to initiate some action in this matter.
Thank you for your time and attention. Any suggestions regarding other approaches that I could take to resolve this are welcome.
Regards,
Jan Skene
