Subject: RE: press release "Likely" means we expect it to happen but cannot guarantee it The Board has to receivelreview the Planning Commission recommendation before determining if they will hold another public hearing. We strongly suspect the Board will do so, but have not been formally directed to schedule such. We're just not there in the process yet. The proposed schedule online (3/16/09 BoCC mtg - letter to Ecology, page 4) shows this Board direction to staff anticipated for July 20, with a public hearing potentially on August 17. These dates are tentative. As to your question about other jurisdictions that have completed their SMP update, see the Ecology webpage at http://www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/sea/sma/ <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Michelle McConnell, Associate Planner - LRP Lead Shoreline Master Program (SMP) Update Project Manager Direct: 360.379.4484 Web: http://www.co.iefferson.wa.us/commdevelopment/ShorelinePlanning.htm - NEW OFFICE HOURS: 9 a - 4:30 p Monday - Thursday; Closed on Friday <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> NOTE: All e-mail sent to this address will be received by the Jefferson County e-mail system and are subject to Public Disclosure under Chapter 42.56 RCW. Citing time. This is outrageous. the other even bigger issue is that the public comment period comes when the bridge is down. MOST VACANT LAND, CABIN AND MOBILE HOME property owners -- those most negatively affected by this SMP will not be able to come to Jefferson County to provide their testimony. This is totally unacceptable. The comment period needs to be delayed until after the new bridge is in operation so property wners can get her to give their public feedback. This is shameful -- but typical of how this county treats its taxpaying property owners. Barbara Blowers 3/25/2009
