This road, as shown on Exhibit "B" of the resolution, is located at milepost 0.03 Left on Phillips Road, Port Ludlow. Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's & Con's: There are currently no addresses assigned on this private road. Notices were mailed to all adjacent property owners and affected agencies; Fire District #3 and JeffCom 911 support the first name choice of Big Sky Loop. One phone comment was received from an adjacent property owner, with concern regarding storm water review, which is unrelated to the road naming process. No other comments were received. In accordance with JCC 12.20.260, the Board is asked to consider the road name choices given, together with the comments received by the affected agencies and adjacent property owners, and to accept one of the choices. The Board may also choose to deny the petition and return it to the petitioner for resubmission with new name choices. During public comment at the April 6 Board of County Commissioners meeting, concern was raised by a citizen about whether naming this road would potentially circumvent normal permitting and standards review. The Department of Community Development is presently reviewing a subdivision application tied to this proposed road. This subdivision application review will include review for compliance with the County's zoning code, subdivision code and standards, stormwater code, critical areas regulations, and SEPA compliance. It is common for a proposed road that is part of a subdivision application to be named so that the name can appear on the preliminary plat. Road naming does not grant approval to construct the road. Such approval would be through the subdivision application, which is still pending. Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: None Recommendation: The Department of Public Works recommends that the Board of County Commissioners review the attached exhibits and name the road Big Sky Loop.
