Pacific Standard Time, mmcconnell@co.iefferson.wa.us writes: Hi Jerry, Unfortunately the article was not completely accurate. "Grandfathered" really isn't the correct term for these situations. Shorelines within the City of Port Townsend are regulated by the City's Shoreline Master Program. Shorelines in Port Ludlow for properties owned by Port Ludlow Associates (PLA) are regulated by a Development Agreement that is vested to the current SMP through 2020, unless that agreement gets renegotiated prior to that expiration date. Non-PLA properties would be subject to the new SMP. If a PLA property is sold and becomes privately owned, it is no longer covered by the Development Agreement.
