The Preliminary Draft SMP - if adopted as written - will not cause anyone to "lose use of their property". We don't
believe people need to 'protect themselves' from the new SMP. While there is a standard buffer proposed, there are
numerous ways to adjust the buffer to accommodate unique site conditions. Single family residential development is
given preferential status to ensure waterfront homes can be built and maintained.

In following the Leader stories I learned about a SPAAD. Will it really protect me from the new rules for 5 years? perhaps
people "on the fence" should be encouraged to do it? It would seem like an easy way to protect anyone worrying about
loosing the use of their property.

The Sunday Peninsula Daily News ran an article about naming the Salish Sea - a collective term to
include Puget Sound, Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Strait of Georgia. I can't find it on the PDN
