Clarification: The Voice specifically requested and printed the information I provided. The editor's hesitation is over
printing someone else's letter to the editor opposing the SMP.
As to your tree cuIting issue, be sure to review the vegetation retention protection standards of the current Critical
Areas regulations (JCC 18.22) and consult with our Planner of the Day (379-4450).
It is not my place to advise whether you should express your opinions to the Voice.

Hi Michelle,
Thank you for information. I know how hard you guys have work on this and can not understand why the Voice would
have a problem deciding on passing your information on to the community. There are so many people sitting on
committees making decisions without looking at the current SMP's. For Liz and myself it's been deplorable dealing with
the North bay committees. We had to hire a lawyer to take over our current case pertaining to our refusal to cut trees on
our property for our neighbors view at the expense of the bluff. They do not understand the tree "canopy" factor.
If it's agreeable with you I would like to send an e-mail to the Voice offering why the SMP policies will be important for all
of us in the community to understand.
