RE: Follow-up - and question

Thank you, AI - I have Tuesday at 3 pm on my calendar. See you then -
I have also received a note from Michelle and we will plan to do our Friday Forum on the SMP-
I may have a few questions to clarify after realtor members send in specific questions... I will try to be
concise and considerate of the time needed.
Imagine as members of the public try to wrap around all these different programs and changes -
things are moving quite fast.
AI - the one thing that will help is information to impart in 5/1 on the process for engaging OeD - to
understand the changes in who the go to person is for the public - and when - I am not sure how the
planner of the day times and availability have had to change to accommodate the new schedule - so
that would be helpful to learn and share...
Thanks - Teren

Hi Teren
I would like to continue our conversation on the research you are doing for the planning unit. The best part of our
discussion was we had the same understanding/agreement of the land constraints and zoning assumptions in
regards to individual parcels we examined. YEAH!
DCD did reduce the capacity of the department by 40% on December 1, 2008. Along with being closed on
Friday's the 4/9 schedule is working, but we are playing from behind. Multiple issues still require expansive time
in order to fully implement. Our #1 priority (Port Hadlock UGA) is a good example of this effort. This is the arena
where future population growth is encouraged, commercial development, and affordable housing are prime
goals. Add in SMP, CAO, permit reviews etc, etc....things are moving very fast.
As such, we can't staff a Friday forum as this would be inconsistent with the schedule.
I could meet with you next Tuesday at 3 or Thursday at 3
let me know
AI

Hello, AI - first - thanks for the time the other day in looking at the build-out.
We were going to reconvene at some point, but I am hard-pressed to rememb,er where we are
with it - and what remains to be seen... I do want to be sure we have covered
questions/concerns -
Looks like the Planning Unit may want a briefing in June, along with a briefing of how our study
relates to the HCCC impervious surface study...
On another note -I host the Realtors' Friday Forums - they are always at 9 am on the 1st
Friday of each month.
The next one we want to go back to the SMP -
Michelle McConnell had come and given a presentation 3 or 4 months ago - but there was not
much time for questions.
We (the Gov. Affairs Comm.) would like to gather scenarios and questions of on the ground
impacts - actual properties and how the new SMP would affect future development _
We would also like to help our members and the public know what and how to engage DCD as
your work time and scope may have or be changing die to cutbacks.
Let's talk - at the very least we could send scenarios in advance - or possibly the consultant
would be available -
We were also thinking of asking a PC member to participate... ???
Thoughts are appreciated - thanks.
