In the Matter of Cancellation
of Unclaimed Warrants

RESOLUTION NO. 32-09
WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 36.22,100, registered or interest bearing County
warrants not presented within one year of the date of their call and other County warrants not
presented within one year of the date of their issue shall be canceled by the legislative authority
of the County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED, by the Jefferson County Board of
County Commissioners, that the warrants specified in "Exhibit A" be canceled in compliance
with the above noted RCW; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOL VED, that the County Auditor and Treasurer shall cancel
all record of the warrants so as to leave the funds as if such warrant had never been drawn.

Resolution to cancel warrants

Warrants of any municipal corporation not presented within one year of their issue shall be cancelled by the
passage of a resolution of the governing body. (Ref: RCW 36,22.100)
In order to comply with the referenced RCW, I am requesting a resolution from you to cancel the outstanding
warrants listed below.

re: Cancellation of Unclaimed Warrants
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
The Treasurer's Office has requested that the Board approve a resolution cancelling 34 outstanding warrants
that are over a year old and have not been redeemed. The request includes a listing of the warrant numbers
and dates of issue.
ANALYSIS:
Warrants of any municipal corporation not presented within one year of issue shall be cancelled by the
passage of a resolution ofthe governing body according to RCW 36.22,100,
RECOMMENDATION:
The Board sign the resolution to allow the cancellation ofthe warrants.
