My comments:
As a former Deputy Coroner I am ECSTATIC to learn that there will be a separate Office of the Coroner. When I told friends I was acting as a Deputy Coroner, they rightly pointed out
my lack of medical knowledge and law enforcement investigate training. Coroners are known as THE LAST RESPONDERS.
Will the Coroner be paid per call? That seems the most logical to me.
Transportation Benefit District:
This is a good idea but I am opposed to any additional sales tax being imposed. I would also oppose the $20 car tab fee since it would only apply outside PT, unless the City Council
also imposes a car tab fee inside PT, the different treatment causes my opposition. I do not think the City Council has imposed a car tab fee, maybe they did increase the sales tax
rate??
Permit Processing Reform
Seems logical, particularly downgrading some applications from Type 3 to Type 2. I hope the County can fully staff and fairly pay the DCD staff to implement these changes. Will there
be some kind of audit when 2026 rolls around to see if it did make for a faster permitting process? A metric to show improved turn-around times?
Yes, it is easy for me to be MASTER OF THE OBVIOUS from the sidelines. Hope you take this comment in the spirit of good will that I intend.
