Based on the biologic disasters in Norway, Scotland and British Columbia it is obvious to a thinking person that such industrial farming is a killer in several ways. If you need some quick reading merely google some of the furor going on north of our border. At least down here the doors to meetings have not been barred. We have hammered the salmon species so hard from every direction while giving lip service to the notion of preserving them, the least we could do is not grant a foot hold to the sea lice and viruses that are devastating wild fish in the above mentioned countries. It seems a given that such pestilence is concomitant with aquaculture. Indeed, the project in Rich passage some years ago failed due to losses from sea lice infestations, and that was without the viral problems of today. Proponents of such industry will claim that" medicines" given to the fish will control the pathogens, so far all treatments have lost efficacy very rapidly and pose significant toxicity issues of their own. Were we not once concerned with water quality? Thank you for you attention to this matter and for your often un- thanked efforts on behalf of the community. Sincerely, Stephen Willing Marrowstone Island 1
