Subject: Pit to Pier
Gentlemen; its time for a little common sense action on your part. Enough studies
have been done. We all know the pit to pier project will cause numerous problems
year after year if you permit it. Its clearly not something that should be permitted on
the Hood Canal.
Its time to prohibit mining use and development, including conveyors, piers, and
barge loading structures on conservancy shorelines within Jefferson County.
Its time to vote to allow shoreline mining-related activities, including crushing,
screening, washing, stockpiling, and loading on ships or barges only within well
defined high intensity shoreline zones.
Its time to prohibit all such activities on any Jefferson County shoreline on Hood
Canal.
