Subject: Please protect Hood Canal
Please prohibit mining use and development, including conveyors, piers, and
barge loading structures on conservancy shorelines within Jefferson County.
Please only allow shoreline mining-related activities, including crushing, screening,
washing, stockpiling, and loading on ships or barges only within well defined high
intensity shoreline zones.
Please prohibit all such activities on any Jefferson County shoreline on Hood
Canal.
Hood Canal is a fragile eco-system. The tourist use of this brings $$ to Jefferson
County. If it is defiled, you will loose these funds, and the respect of residents who
love the Canal.
