If the Shoreline Master Plan does not specifically prohibit industrial activities, unprincipled special interests will find ways to circumvent its requirements. Along the Jefferson County shorelines of Hood Canal, please specifically prohibit activities such as gravel crushing, screening, washing, stockpiling and/or loading on ships and/or barges. Insteady, those (and similar) industrial activities should be restricted to well-defined high intensity shoreline zones elsewhere in Jefferson County. Our interest in your decisions is driven by our long-term interest in the health of Hood CanaL Aslong time residents of this area, we understand how much has already been lost. The Shoreline Master Program has the potential to halt those losses. Don't miss this opportunity! Sincerely, Kristie Langlow and Robert B. Kohn 2541 NW Canal View Way Poulsbo, W A 98370 6/15/2009
