In considering your shoreline management regulations, please take into account the Kitsap County rules on the eastern shore of Hood Canal. It does little good for one county to ban undesirable uses on the waterfront (like mining, pier building, loading and barge shipping of gravel) if another county allows those undesirable activities. Hood Canal is a narrow bay that needs protection on both sides. Jefferson and Kitsap counties need to work together with common and compatible planning to preserve the jewel in our environment that we share.
