Subject: Shoreline Master Plan
Dear Sir I Madame,
I am shocked to learn that the latest version of the Jefferson County Shoreline Master Plan continues to permit
gravel mining conveyors, piers and barge loading on conservancy shorelines.
This means that the Jefferson County Shoreline Master Plan would permit activities on Hood Canal that could be
devestating to the shorelines, marine life, and other wildlife habitats.
Please modify the master plan to prohibit mining use and development, including conveyors, piers, and barge
loading structures on conservancy shorelines within Jefferson County.
In particular, please prohibit all such activities on any Jefferson County shoreline on Hood Canal.
In your position, you are given the responsibility to protect our shoreline.
Please use your position to modify the Master Plan.
Thank you for your service to the county and the state.
Sincerely,
Alva W. Butcher
