Revised Draft Shoreline Master Program (Revised Draft SMP)
The Planning Commission's work to review, research and revise the Draft SMP is appreciated.
We strongly support the following recommended, proposed revisions to the Draft SMP:
· 50-foot shoreline buffers in Shoreline Residential and High Intensity Zones;
· Allowance of reconstruction of damaged property on the original footprint; and
· Strengthened mining prohibitions.
The Revised Draft SMP appears to be a common sense, flexible, understandable and
enforceable document that provides the appropriate environment protections while respecting
private property rights.
Respectfully,
Errol I. & Ginger Johnson
