' Engineers report on condition of Pattiaon Street Bridge was received and ordered -.;~ filed, The Engineer was instructed to have the bridga repaired in accordance with his • ~ recommendation. Communication from Wm.R.Roy, State Highway Commissioner, disapproving all of the ,Reaolutiona submitted for his approval at the last meeting, wad received and ordered placed on file. • Sheriff McGuire report having investigated condition of one Sarn Douglas, reported sick and destitute, and he was ordered taken to the Counfsy Poor Farm. The Boaxd repaired to the County Treasurer's office to make its Quarterly Audit of • .cash and found on hand the s~-m of X41,137.22 as per Treasurer's Quarterly Report to which reference is hexeby made, and to which sum due certificate was made. L'ir Corwin S. Shank, Atty for the S.P.A. & yJ. Ry Co., appeared before the Board in re -- adjustment of County Road taken by the Railway Company for its right of way near C the held of Discovery Bay. After considerable discussion tiie County Engineer was in- :.. ~, atructed, in company with the railroad Engineer, to ascertain amount of work necessary / ~~~~' to be done in order that a satisfactory settlement might be made on a each basis. Idr H.J.Lipsett, Li. Kennedy, & J.D.Phillipa appeared before the Board advocating the expenditure of Permanent Highway b'unds for the year 1918 in extending Permanent ' IIighway No 1. towards center. Idr Ynrr.Bishop also spoke at some length in favor of the same proposition. On motion of Commissioner Eldridge, seconded by Commissioner Eowman, a vote was taken to determine the aentirnent of the Board in the matter, Commi.asianers Eldridge and Bowman voting in the affirmative, Commissioner 71enrrmaker votinlr in the negative.
