Pursuant to adjournment at last meeting Board of Commievionera of Jefferson County, i ~ 4davhington, met in epeoin-]. eeevion in their rooms at the County Court House at 10 A.Di. Prevent C.I.~-aaamaker, Chair~en, and Commissioners att. Eldridge and P.P.Bowman. ltesers fI.J.Lippeet, R.W. Condon, H.H.Buppier, J.D.Philiips, et-al, appeared before the Board and, supported by oommunioations, and petitions bearing the sigrratures of over 200 citizens and tax payers--other petitions bearing over 200 additional signature s,alieg-? ed having been filed r~ith the State Highway Commissioner--who protested the expending of Permanent Highway Funds on any road other than the proposed Dross road beginning near the ~~' Talker plane and thence to Center, asked that the Board take favorable cation in the construction of said highway at this time. After considerable discussion the Board was ', unable to agree as to the advisability of expending the Permanent Highway funds on the project in face of the fact that the State Highway Commissioner refused to approve same. Tre petitions and oanmuniaations wer© ordered planed on file. On motion of Commissioner Bowman, seconded by Commissioner Eldridge, it was voted to expend the Permanent highway funds beginning at end of State Aid Road No. 41 at Quiloene and running thence northerly on Leland Valley road, and the following Resolution, a copy of which was ordered sent to the State Highway Commissioner, was adopted, viz: "WHEREAS, at a meeting of the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson County, State of Washington, hold in the Commissionersr office of said County on the 19 day of ,Tune, 1916, a quorum being present and a majority voting in the affirmative, the following; Resolution was adopted: RESOLVED, That the public interest demands the improvement, under the Provisions of Chapter 35 of the Lawa of 1911, of that section of a Public Highway situate within the County of Jefferson, and described as follows: Beginning at end of State Aid Road No 91 at Quilcene and running northerly on Leland road Being a distance of about ? miles, no part of said highway. being situate within the boundaries of any city or incorporated town. On motion of Commissioner Eldridge, seconded by Commissioner I3orsrnan, Supervisor Coyne was authorized to expend X750.00 towards making this road paseablo for vehicle: traveh.. Supervisor Coyna was inetruoted to repair the Tarboo Road, oontining hiA offorta to making this road passable entailing as little expense ae possibio. d Communioation from Corwin $. Shank, Attorney for the S.P-A & W Ry Co., ro--right of way at head of Dieoov~~ry Bay was read, and referrod to tho Auditor for anavrer and Bounty .Attorney was inetruoted to bogin oondemnation proooodings to obtain the noodod right of way for County road. !
