I've been a fan of Oliver Burkeman since "4000 Weeks," but this book is even better. Burkeman has distilled and refined his thinking into 28 short chapters, one a day, as a "retreat for the mind" and a new start. The articles are engaging and amusing, and offer arresting insights into the challenges that we face today. As caring and responsible humans in a volatile and aching world, it can feel overwhelming to cope with all the demands, external and internal, that life puts upon us. Personally speaking, Burkeman's approach has freed me up to make nimble choices. In the face of an overloaded "to-do" list, I still feel energetic (most of the time!).
