streets, avenues, alleys, public places, public roads, 01" hichways, of any kind or ohar-
acter, that they may deem proper, and this franchise shall in no way prohibit or prevent
the publiC from using such streets; nvenueo, alleys or public places, public roads or
highways, or affect the jurisdiction of the County Comnlissioners ove~ them or any part of
them, with full power to make all necessary improvements, repairs. or ohanges in the srone.
Said grantee, its suocessors and assigns, shall comply in the construction, operation
and maintenance of the rights herein granted, with all the provisions of the laws of the
state of Washington, in relation thereto, and shall so construct, operate, and maintain
its poles, wires and other appurtenances in suoh manner as shall not interfere with the
rightful and reasonable use of such streets, alleys, roads and highways by the public,
and shall not block or impede traffic thereon, and where it may be necessary to excavate
or otherwise obstruct such high,;;Ye.ys,

temporarily, sha12 safeguard all
such excavations or obstructions, end remove the srone as soon as possible, and shall
restore such roads o~ highways to their fo~mer conditions ~s soon as can be reasonably
done.
If the said grroatee, its sucoessors or assigns, shall violate or ~al1 to comply with
any of the terms, conditions or provisions of this franchise on its part fop. thirty days
after notice from the Board of County Commissioners, then said Board shall have th~ ri6ht
to declare this franchise null and void and of no further force. or effect whatsoever.
Said ~lget Sound Power & Ligbt Compvny, its successors or assigns, shall, within
II thirty (30) days after the date hereof, fila with the Clerk of the Board, its written
acceptance of the authority, privileges and franchises granted by this ol'der, subjeot to
