The Honorable Board of County Colmilissioners met in the Commissioners' Room in
the County C,ourt House at Port Townsend, WaShington, on the above named date at the
hour of 10 o'olook, A. M.
Pres~ent: Messrs. S. Loolchart, Cho.i:man, Roy L. Nordby and J. R. Cousens.
MInutes of the April, 1938, Sessions, read arxl approved.
Major Cook and Lieut. Vickers, U. S. A~, appeared before the Board and requested
the Board is ,approval in obtaining the North 400 feet of the Northeast Quartor (Lot 5):
Section 33, .Township 31 North, Range 1 West, W. M., from the State of Washington, for
military purposes. On Motion, duly seconded, the Auditor was instructed to take the
matter up with the State Land Commissioner at Olympia.
County Agents Monthly Report received and ordered placed on file.
County Nurse's Monthly Report received and ordered placed on file.
Peti tion fl'om George B. Ka.ssack et al for the establishment of a County Road
referred to the Engineer.
Communication from the Port Townsend Cahmber of Commeroe requesting that the old
saw mill site in Railroad Addition be added to the reserve set aside was ordered laid
on the table.
Bids for the Burial of the County Poor were received from the following:
Port Townsend Mortuary: $32.45 per burial plUS 10 cents per mile to and from
Mortuary; $2.50 for transportation of deceased person and Ambulance service $3.00
plus 10 cents psr mile.
Carroll's Mortuary: $60.00 pe r bU't'ial plus 10 cents per mile to and from Mortuary e
On Motion, duly seconded, the bid for burials of the County Poor by the Port
Townsend Mortuary, being ~e lowest and best bid, was acceptedo
On Motion, duly. seconded, the Board adjourned to meet on Tuesday, May 3, 1938, at
10 o'clOCk, A. M.
