The Honorable Board. of County Commissioners met in regulSl' session in the County
Commissioners' Room in the Court House, Port Townsend, Washington, on the above named
date at the hour of 10 A. M.
Present: Messrs. Roy L. Nordby, Chairman, Ray E. Annneter end Bertil Kruse.
Minutes of the Februnry sessions read and approved.
A group of loggers from the Upper Queets River appeared asking that the County grade
and maintain a portion of road which they would build on up from Matheny Creek to the
Lars EriCkson Estate" so that they could log over same. Mr. Erickson spoke for the group.
Referred to County Engineer.
Letter received from August Northup as~ing the County to take over and maintain
the upper CCC road on the Clearwater. Referred to County Engineer.
Letter from Paul H. Knowles, state Wide Mineral Survey, regarding a county project
to investigate manganese ore in the County. Later Mr. Knowles appeared in person.
Approved plans received from Dept. of Highways relative to C. R. P. No. 10, Dosewall-
ips River Road, estimated cost $1,797.60. Ordered filed.
Five Bids received for Inst~ance on County Equipment as follows:
Fred Aldrich, representing Q.ueene-Royal Ins. Co.
Geo. Welch, representing General Ins. Co. of A.
F. J. Haight, representing General Ins. Co. of A.
R. T. Hayden, repres6t1ting national Li,berty Ins. Co.
Jack Hearing, representing Truck Ins. Exchange
1w. Aldrich was the suocessful bidder and bid was awarded to him,.but to be some-
what changed and lessened in amount covered so' as to come within the funds available
to pay the premium.
A group of ladies from Seattle, consisting of I\ws. J. Derby, Mr. Ha1tz and Edith
Crosby requested that, if possible, a road'be built on Dubob Bay to their summer cabins,
stating that a good many people wanted to build on tl1.e West; side of the Bay, but had no
mesna to get out except by ~HH boat and that a road would add greatly to the value of
the land. Commissioners to investigate.
Sheriff's Salo of the Nil (Loss West 10 ft. of the IT?l N~.) of Lots 1 and 3 in Block
32 Webster's Addition to the City of Port Townsend ordex'ed for Daturday, April 8, 1939,
at 10 A. 1,1.
