The Honorable Board of Jefferson County Commissioners met in regular session on the above named date and hour with a two members present, Mr. Roy L. Nordby, Chairman and Mr. Bertil Kruse, member, present, Mr. Ray E. Ammetel' Wr>S not able to appear. The members present left for Seattle at 10:30 to meet wi th the na'i'Y engineers with regard to the proposed bridge over the portage canal as per resolution No 180. RE30LUTION NO 180. On September 11 and 12th the Commissioners were in Seattle at the request of the U.S. Navy engineers on the proposed same bridge as per resolution No 178. RESOLUTION NO 278. V/llEREAS a meeting is to be held with the Naval Corrunancl'lnt of the Indian Island ammuni.tion depot on the 11th and 12th of Sept., 1940 and WHEREAS the interests of Jefferson County in the matter of securing a bridge over the Portage Cdal are very vital to this County and now is the time when every effort should be put forth to secure the same THEREFORE BE IT HESClLVED thatt tho Board of Jefferson County Commissioners proceed to Seattle in this m~tter at public expense on the above named dates for the purposes aforesaid. On Sept 17th the Board met with !.lias Helen Foster of the State Welfare Department on the County entering upon the Stamp plan, and action WaS taken to insure the County being put in a position to secure srone if it is desired at a later date. On October 1 the Board WaS called in special session to o.k. the certified P.U.D. petitions to the election board, and ordered that it be placed on the Genera.l Election Bal10tt Nov 5th, 1940. I October 8th, 1940 at 10 A.M. The Board reconvened on the above named date and the minuets of the Sept meeting were read and approved. Mr. Miller of the Welfare office met with the Commissioners with regard to a relief wprrant issued to Mrs. W. n. Owens, upon her statement that she WaS deserted by her husband, which was found to be incorrect. The following resolutions were adopted: RESOLUTION NO 174. V/llEREAS Plans and Specifications were drawn for the construction of County Road Project #24, Jefferson County, Washington, and WHERt,:AS during the course of construction it became necessary to change the plans a.nd VI1lEREA5 the change necessitated a change in tBe list of qUnDtities,f BE IT 'rImREfOHE RESOLVED that the following is ~ correct list of quanti ties for the i terns changed: GRUBBING 1.0 Acres Class "A" Excavation 2524.0 Cu Yda.
