I The Honorable Board of Jefferson County Commissioners met in regular session on the above named date and hr,UI' with all members present, Hoy L. llordby, Chain1lfln, P.ay li. Ammeter and Bertil Kruse members. Upon motiol1 m"de and seconded the Auditor Wf'S instructed to draw a Warl'ant for Mr. Troy Fields in the amount of $16.00 HS a refund to hi.1y., he having purchased the old Butler Plpce from the County and the ()16 being the amount due him from th€. advance rent paid by the Chinaman, Ah Tom. The repmrt of the Land Cle~ring Division and the County Extension Agent w~s received also the report of the County Health Officer and they were examined and ordered placed on file. Jecause Tuesday the 3rd was the day of the City general election and the election for the 2nd precinct the COlllm:i ssioners adjourned until Wednesday and went out on road inspection in the country. Wednesday, Dee 4th, at 10 A.E. rhe Board reconvened on the above nallled date fIDd hour with all members present. Mr. Gross of the Stpte Department of Forostry and Ill'. Russell, Chief fire warden for C1211ml1 and Jefferson counties appeRred before the Board relative to the Stnte acquiring SOl1'.e of the logged off land for the purpose of re-planting and asked that the Commissioners lO:Jk up several blocks Md they would return at a later dat,e relative to sarne. The following bills against the County were o.k.ed. CUm1.ENT MPENSE " It Assistance County ROAD fund $8,541.43 2,08/+.05 6,014./.4 I W. H. Carder, Supt of the Port Tovmsend schools and !.II'. Haney LeBlanc of Chimacum ap!?eared before the Commissioners with regard to the hiring of a new Public Her'l th Furse to succeed 1,:ls5 Loney and vii th regard to the ap;pointment of Mrs. Sally Ingham. Upon motion made and seconded it was decided to give ],;1'5. Ingham the chance at the ;:urse positi"n with the understanding that she l!'ter meet all the State requir.ements on Public Health 8,S required by the State Department of He!)lth. Tschudin of Seattle appeared before the Board wit.h rAf;,?,l'd to the price the Government is payi.l1g for the lMd it is taking on Indian rS:J.and J stating that the price he considered far too low, and that some of the land holders hnd retained him to handel their claim for more money fraIl the U.S. Upon motion made and seconded it was decided to have the COlmty ,At,t"orney prepare a protest on t!1e amount of compensation which h,o,s been offered the County I'or the county owned lo,nd in the West End which is being taken for park purposes and nlso D. proposed protest on the t.aking of the road ovmed by the county on Indian Islcmd, for which no additional money has been offered, other th"n the ~l for the land in question.
