The Honorable Board of JefferaonCounty Camldssioners met on the above named dnte in a opeoial sesllion with all members present to confer with Mrs. Chriatenllen, head of the Welfare Division ot northwest counties for the State of Washington. Mr. Bugl1:e reported that Mr. Klnck had again closed the much disputed road at his place on Oftk Bay and the CO:'1III1ssioners instructed Prosecutor David ~ea to file aotion against him at 0llC0 to b1'1ng the matter to a head. The Board decided to continue on from Olympia to the West End of the county on 'fuesdny morning and visit the Bunch place up the Quinault River and also to hold the general meeting at Clearwater on the night of Wednesday, April 16th and the Clerk of the Board Was instructed to notify the people in the West End of sucha meeting. The Canmissioners also visited the ranch of John Huelsdonk on the upper Hoh River relative to the proposed road in to his place and the repair of the bridge on the upper Hoh. The Board again leased Blocks 2,3 & 4 of Moore Place to Ill'. Pete Naughton to be used as Pasture for stock, and also re-leased to Mrs. Maud Lammers those certain lot.s 'Which she had used for pasture last year. The Board and the County Auditor counted the Treasurer's Cash and found it to be correct Cash on ha."1d $1,430.24 Bank Balance m,480.63 The Board adjourned to meet again on Tuesday, April 8th. A report WaS received frQll the St. John's hospital, showing the:t.r operations for the year of 1940. The report of the County extension service was received, examined and ordered placed on file. Mr. Grosse of the Division of State Forestry visited the Corrunissioners with regard to t.he land 'Which the State proposes to re-plant. No action WaS taken as yet until further study of the SnJ1lS w~s made by the Commissioners. Motion WaS made and seconded to purchase a new car for the C~~ssionerB use and the county Engineer was instructed to prepare bids for same the aWard to be made on April 21st. County Welfare Administrator Mr. Chps Miller WaS "sked to go to the Puget Sound P"...anning Council meeting in Seattle and represent Jefferson County and the C~~issioners. The bids for County printing was given the Leader Company f:IJ~ for ist and 4O~ for second insertion. 1he following bills against Jefferson County were exronined and orctered paid: CUi{RENT EXPENSE II " Assistance Acct 69S2-.23 311.24 6011.57 COUdY ROA.D The Board adjourned to meet again on Wednesday, April 9th, at 10 A.l,r.
