The Honorable Board of Jefferson Cou.~ty Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, July 7th
at the Hour of 10 A.M. with all members present. ,Arthur C. Boren, Chairma.'l, Hugh Ianbe~ and Bertll
Kruse, members. .'
The Board and the County Auditor counted tIle County.Treasurer's cash and found it to be correct in
the amount of $1,482.73 cash on hand and the Bar~ balance of ~37,565.74.

THEllEFORE BE IT RESOLVED thut they leave Por~ '!'u\m3end on Ju.ne 17th and proceed to El1~msburg
on the above named date and at public ex:)ense to attond the Same.

RESOLUTION No. /lB'1 20. to Seattle for Physician.
WHEREAS t~e resignation of Dr. L.E. ]'oster as County Physician and Public Health Officer
necessitates the securing of a doctor to replace him and
WHEREAS the Board of County Com.~issioners believe it to be to the best interests of Jefferson County
that they t~ ~nd secure the services of a doctor at 'the earliest possible date
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the Board proceed to Seattle to meet with Dr. Evans of the Stllte
Department of ijealth on Wed.!'!esday, June 25th, 194:1., for that purpose and at public expense

Motion wa~ made and seconded that the COUl~ty pay to Nansen JU1derson of lYe stern Jefferson Cou.~tYj
the sum of ,. $300.00 (Three Hundred Dollars) when he had completed that certain piece of read from
the highwaY to. his place, the county to grade and gravel the same.
Motion was made and seconded that the Cou;.ty Treasurer be authorized to cancel all personal
propert;y- taxes. iVuich he deemed uncollec!:'abl.., as pel' a l'",vised list presented to the Conullissioners.
The Board adjourned to m.eet again 0;1 Tl1esclay., July 8th, 1941.
Tuesday, July 8th, at 10 A.M.
The Board reconvened on the above named date and hour with all members present.
A conference was held with DR. Foster and Mr. Chas Miller with regard to the County health
progra:me and also the Doctor sitUation. The application of D.... J .E. Taylor WaS received. It was
decided to leave the appointment of a County physician up to Me. Miller of the Welfare Department.
The Board decided to proceed to the West end of the County on ~.~onday, July Lhtl 14th and the
Clerk was notified to let the West enderf: know of the meeting which is to be held on the evening of
Tuesday, July 15t~ at 7:30.
The Union organizers were in to see the COllUllissioners and are to return on July 21 to confer
with regard to the county road workers joining the union.

The Conunissioners decided that wit.h the increase in pay of the now Doctor setup that Dr', Foster
was cntitled to the adclit10nttl r3.ise of $50.00 for July and i.t is so ordered.
The Board adjourned to meet again on Wednesday, July 9th.

The Board reconvened on the abovc named data and hout' with all members present.

see the Board with regard to the Coyle rO,~d over which the echool board propose to haul children from
Coyle to the Quilctl[\o School and aalcod that Ula road be improvod. The Conun,iasionern wo consult with
the County Engineer in rogard to the same.
