The honorable Board ot Jefferson County Commissioners met in r~gular session on the above named
date and hour with all members prstlsnt: A,!'thur C. Boron, Chaiman, Hugh Nisbet and l3ertil Kruse ;nembers.
'l'be minutes of the August SSision were read ,qnd approved. A release to the 9th Corps Area Ildqts district
WIlB Bigned by the Commissioners with regard to thtJ, use of l'OIlQS used in 'che recant';anny morements of
troops.
A letter \'Ias sent to ths City /Counoil, !li3lt~np, that they put in the city's budget for 1942 the
sum of $400.00 for the city share of the County Health progr~~.
As so few of the bills against the county w~re presented, the Board adjourned until Monday
Sept 8th, at 10 A.M.

A letter was received from the Wash State Association of County Commissioners asking that the
Commissioners settle the claim of the State against the COlU'lty for the care of non violent insnne and that
instead of having to pay the sum of $5,56,3.98, which had been awarded the state by the court, by
an ar1'angemont with the Governor the County could settle the account in full by paymng the sum of
$74.3.19. Upon motion made and seconded that this be done and it was ordered to be included in the 1942
Budget for payment after the first of the new year.
It was decided that it WaS a very good tirr.e, 'co purchase a neVI County truck aIld also a new car
for the county engineer's use, ~s next year these may be hard to get and the Engineer WaS instructed
to prepare bids to be called for for the meeting on Monday, Oct 6th at 10 a.m.
Upon Inotion made and seconded the follo\ving,preliminary b~dget for the year 1942 Was adopted:
