The Board of Jefferson County Oommiseioners met on the above named elate at the hour iII.t' 10:00 A.M.
with all me.mbers present: .Arthur C. Bonm, Chair!1lan- Hugh N1abet and Bertil Kruse, members.
The minutes of the Jany meet.ing were read and approved.
It being the Ume and place for the bide to be opened for lumber for the new snow craok bridge
The following bids were oponed

The bid for the lwnber WAS aWarded t.o the Port TOl'Illl!lend Lumber Co.,
Welfare Admintstrato~ Miller appeared before the Board with a proposed naw contract for medical
Care at the St. John's Hospital and after caretul consideration and a few cha11ges it WaS decided that
it would be signed upon p.esentation later when the ohar.ges hed beon made.

country dietricts for salvage. The Board oould do nothing inregard to the use of County truckc as
the fanners were to receive conpensation for the materials turned over for scrap.

The Board reconvened with ~ll members present.
The revised contract for the st. John's Hospital was presented to the Board and signed, the main
highlights of same being as follows:
Classification A- For all Patients requiring emergent or continued hospital bed
care as after surgery and serious illness, at the rate of $2.50 per day.
Cl"ssification C- Those patients suffering from. chronic ailments requiring daily
dressings and ot,her at.tendant services continuously over a period of more than one month, $1.50 pel' day.
BABIES * Newborn babies during period of mother's confinement at one dollar ::Jer dajr.
Sick babies at the rate of $2.00 per day.
SURGERY AND Xi.RAYS: The party of the first part agrees to pay as follows for the use
of the operatins room and surgery:
Five dollars for all minor operations, such as tonsillectomies, casts, removal of
sutures, etc.

Ten dollars for all major operations such as appendectomies, hernia repair, etc.
For use of the X-ray, the party of the first Part agrees to pay as follows:
State rates for pat.ient::; 'who receive medical assist.a.nce for the
aged under the St.ate-wide medical fund. For indigent cases under care of the cormty physician,
payable from the three-mill fund. Five dollars for the use of the X-ray, excepting for fractures
of extremities, which shall be $2.50 for each view. .

$7.50 shall be total charge for use of surgery and services.
NURSING -lltl<L'E CARE: rate $.35.00 per month i,ncluding $2.00 for replacements.
Permission was given the Anny to place barbed wire entanglements on Block 4.3 of Montana Add.
also on Blocks .3,7,8,9 and 108 and Lots 4 & 5 of Blk lQ5. --Pettygrove ~st Add.
The Board ad,journed to meet again on Wednesday, Feby 4th, at 10 A.M.

Tne following resolution was signed.

Vlhereas a statewide meeting of the County COlrurd.ssioners, Engineers and Welfaro hav:l.ng been
called for Feby 5th & 6th at Olympia, and
WHEREAS H is deemed advisl]ble to "ttend this meeting
TI!EREFORE BE IT SO ORDERED that the Board proceed to Olympia on the above named dotes and
at public expense to attend the same.
