The honorable Board of Jefferson County Commissioners met in regular session with all members present: Arthur C. Boren, Chainnan - Hugh Hisbet, Member and Bertil Kruse, Member. The minutes of the July session were read and approved. Motion TillS made by Mr. Kruse and seconded by Mr. Nisbet to secure the ser-'I1ces of Dr. EE. Palmquis'l:, of Port Angeles as Coun'~y Health Officer for the new Olympic Health t[atrict, which includes the Counties of Cle.1lam and Jefferson. Dr. Palmquist '1'18S notified of such action by the Clel'k of the Board. Permission was given the Amy to use the following land9: '!be south ~ of t.~e SEt of Sec 12, Twp 30N. Mr. Jack Taylor, Land CoDlllissioner for the State of Washington and Mr. Scully, Secy' of the Land Board appeared bei'oM the Cormnissioners inragsrd to the 'Illest end RODda, which they said, i..t:l the near future w:I.ll be subjected tQ ve~ heaVY tl;'afi'ic owing to new logging operations which are to sta--rt at once. It WaS made clear to thEm that Jefferson County could not bear the burden of maintaining these rOads for these logging operations without help from the State or Federal Government and Mr. TaYlor suggested that the Carunissioners contact the Portland office of the G~Ternment to see what could be done to help out this situation. The Board adjourned to meet again on Wednesday, Aug 5th. Wednesday, August 5th, at 10 A.M. The Board reconvened on the Above named date and hour with all Tflembers present. The llollowing bills against the County were examingd and ordered paid: CURRENT EX.PENSE County Road · Assists.llce Acct. $5,349.44 9,783.77 2,075.06 The Board decided to visit Portland and contact the Federal Office there relative to the West End Road situation and therefore the Board adjourned to meet again on Monday, Aug 10, at 10 A.M. Monday, August 10th, at 10 A.M. The Board reconvened on the above named date and hour with all members present. The following resolution was signed: RESOI,UTmf:!-1iQ: IIBn 74. Transfer of Amimal fund. I BE 'IT RESOLVED that the amount of money heretofore transferred frem the DJrnesti'J Animal Protection Fund to the Current Expense Fund be retransferred from Current Expense fund back to the Domestiv Animal Protection Fund.
